Haydon Bridge
Date: 1957-04-19
The ancient chapel of St. Cuthbert, which had been virtually disused for nearly 20 years, reopened for regular use on Easter Sunday. The church, dating back to Saxon times, was where the body of St. Cuthbert rested when monks from Lindisfarne fled from the Danes.
