George Richard Pepperell (1884-Oct-Dec 1953) of Workington bought the Henshaw & Barcombe Colliery, which went into liquidation a few months ago. Only last year, a large amount of money was spent on extensive sidings, screening plant, block of offices and a big aerial flight.
