Ninety-Nine Northumbriana Mural

Artist Rachel Pearson has been commissioned by the Heritage Centre to paint a mural incorporating 99 images of Northumbrian life. Suggest an image for the mural and you get a chance to win a framed, limited edition print of "Hesleyside Woodland in Spring" by Rachel Pearson. Fill out the suggestion box now.  Rachel has been using a webcamera to make her work available to a wider audience. You can see her progress here.

Note: As one of Rachel's many other hats is the role of Secretary of Bellingham Show (which falls on Saturday 28 August this year), she is taking time out from painting until the Show is over and she has had a rest. She will be back in September.

The mural has been sponsored by VARC (Visual Arts in Rural Communities) while the webcasts have been sponsored by MGH Consultants, Northumberland National Park Authority and the Heritage Centre.

The Wannie Line - this exhibition (shown earlier this year) returns due to exceptional interest from railway buffs and others. This temporary exhibition, curated by Ged Short of Wark, features the Wansbeck single track railway line from Morpeth to Reedsmouth (official railway name). The line closed in October 1966 and is much missed.
