How You Can Help

Donate Your Time

The Heritage Centre relies on volunteers to do all the work - although we are about to appoint a part-time Curator and a part-time Education Officer (April 2011). Some people help out at the Heritage Centre and some work mainly from their own homes which are often miles from Bellingham - these are the people who handle grant applications, the accounts, publicity, our new newsletter editor and the volunteer who keeps the press-cuttings files. Some of the tasks we need help with are:

  • Meeting and greeting visitors/showing people around the museum;
  • Helping with special events;
  • Helping with school visits;
  • Fundraising;
  • Publicity/press work
  • Writing for/illustrating the Newsletter;
  • Photography/graphics/design/signwriting;
  • Working with museum objects;
  • Cataloguing - manual and computerised;
  • Website/IT/computers/digitisation;
  • Admin - updating files, photocopying etc;
  • Maintenance;
  • Last but equally important: cleaning and dusting.

If you would like to help with any of the above, we would love to hear from you!  Email: Contact Us   Tel: 01434 220050
