THE LATEST NEWS hot off the press!

TODAY!   A beautiful day to visit Bellingham

The Heritage Centre is full of interesting artefacts about the history of the area. Our current temporary exhibition is about the Wansbeck Railway Line (The Wannie Line). Children always enjoy the museum because it is hands-on - everything from Reivers helmets to 'Sammy the Salmon' videogame. The Tourist Information Centre is also housed in the museum (Tel: (01434) 220 616).

Poet Linda France's Writing Workshop

This wonderful poet is leading a special writing workshop at the Heritage Centre on Thursday 7 October as part of National Poetry Day. The event is part of Border Song - a collaboration between Linda France and artist/author/illustrator/print-maker Kim Lewis. Border Song will be displayed at the Heritage Centre from 20 September to 29 October 2010. Please note that bookings for the writing workshop (7 Oct) are made through the Queen's Hall, Hexham.

Watch Rachel Pearson paint a mural

Rachel must be heaving a sigh of relief now that the Bellingham Show, of which she is secretary,  is over. She will resume her painting of the mural soon. Enter the free draw for a limited edition copy of her work Hesleyside Woods in Spring - details available here!

YouTube Videos!

We have a range of videos on YouTube including two from the Simon Armitage evening Sat 10 July 2010. See them here!

The Heritage Centre was refurbished and extended during 2008. A new gallery houses the Stannersburn Smithy and an exhibition of farming tools, mementoes and pictures.

The Bellingham Tourist Information Centre now shares space with the Heritage Centre. Tel: (01434) 220 616.
