So sorry for delay in getting back to you. After talking to the children I have further feedback from the visit. All the children enjoyed the visit and gained a lot of valuable information which they were able to put into their work.
The comments included;

Not crowded, good to be able to touch things.

I have just found the online education materials for schools and families at Bellingham Heritage Centre. I think they are really excellent, just the right level of detail, lots of support for teachers to give them the background knowledge and confidence to plan a good visit, engaging and relevant (to the curriculum) activities for pupils and things to do for families too. Lovely photographs (I specially like the one of domestic activities for girls in school) - a good idea to make such good use of all the archive material like this. I hope local schools are really pleased with their new resource and visit when the place reopens in the spring. A pity it is so far from Kent - a long way for me to visit! But maybe one day.....

Thank you so much for supporting our visits. The children have really enjoyed them and they have certainly fuelled their enthusiasm. The first group to make their repeat visit, loved the opportunity to use the Centre's resources find the answers to their particular questions and further their research.

Thank you for these activity sheets and the pre-visit presentation. The teaching suggestions for the presentation cover a wide range of aspects that will really inform our children and give them ideas for research. They are just what I need.
